Garmat Paint Booth Filters — Intake, Exhaust, Bag & Roll Media

Garmat booths are a common fixture in automotive and industrial paint shops. The filter setup varies by model — so before you order, it helps to know which booth you have and where the filters sit.

Most Garmat intake filters are ceiling-mounted. Exhaust filtration depends on the model: some use tower bag filters, others use roll media or fiberglass sheets. The most common filter sizes across Garmat booths are 38" × 62" and 38" × 107".

Filter Guide by Booth Location

Intake (ceiling)

All Garmat booths pull incoming air through ceiling-mounted filters. These trap dust and airborne particles before they reach the spray zone. Replacing them on schedule — at least once or twice a year — is the single most effective way to prevent contamination in the finish.

Exhaust — tower bag / sock filters

Applies to: Garmat Tier 1, Chinook, Frontier

These models use polyester bag filters, sometimes called sock filters, that sit over exhaust tower openings. They are cone-shaped (often compared to a birthday hat shape) and made from polyester. They capture overspray as air exits the booth. Replace them when they become visibly loaded or when exhaust airflow starts to drop.

Exhaust — roll media and fiberglass

Applies to: Garmat 3000, Zephyr, and most other Garmat models

These booths use either polyester roll media or flat fiberglass sheets for exhaust filtration. Roll media is cut to size and installed in the exhaust pit or floor panel. Fiberglass panels are a lower-cost alternative. Both work well for capturing overspray — the right choice usually comes down to your shop's volume and budget.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which Garmat model I have?

The model name is typically on a label inside the booth door or on the main control panel. If it is not visible, check your original purchase documents or contact your Garmat dealer with the serial number.

Can I use roll media instead of fiberglass for my Garmat 3000 or Zephyr?

Yes. Both polyester roll media and fiberglass are compatible with those models. Roll media generally holds up better under heavy overspray and is easier to cut cleanly. Fiberglass is the more budget-friendly option for lighter use.

How often should Garmat tower bag filters be replaced?

It depends on how much you spray. A busy shop may need to swap them every few months. A good rule of thumb is to inspect them after every 20–30 paint jobs and replace when they look loaded or when you notice reduced exhaust airflow.

Do you carry non-standard Garmat filter sizes?

Yes. If your booth uses a size not listed, contact us with your booth model and the filter opening dimensions and we will find the right match.

Not sure which filter fits your booth?

Use our Find My Filter tool to match your booth, or send us a photo of your booth tag or current filter and a technician will identify the exact filter and size for you. Need a non-standard size? We custom-cut filters to your exact dimensions.
