Intake Ceiling Blanket Filters for Downdraft Paint Booths

In a downdraft paint booth, air enters through the ceiling and passes through a blanket-style filter before reaching the work area. These filters remove dust and airborne particles, helping you get a clean, consistent finish on every job.

Key Specifications

  • Filtration efficiency: 90%+ particle capture rate
  • Replacement frequency: 1–2 times per year under normal operating conditions
  • Available sizes: 131 sizes, ranging from 20" to 81" wide
  • Filter type: Polyester fiber blanket with tactifier coating

How They Work

Polyester fiber core A thick layer of polyester fiber captures dust and particles as air flows through the ceiling.

Woven fabric facing A fabric layer on the surface holds the fiber in place and catches finer particles that pass through initially.

Tactifier coating A wax-based adhesive coating applied to the fiber helps trap dust and prevent it from being released back into the booth.

Even air distribution The blanket design spreads incoming air uniformly across the ceiling, reducing turbulence in the spray zone.

When to Replace Your Ceiling Filters

  • Replace at least once or twice a year as part of routine maintenance, even if the filter looks clean.
  • Replace sooner if you notice reduced airflow, increased overspray settling on surfaces, or visible dust buildup on the filter face.
  • High-volume shops painting daily may need more frequent changes — check filters monthly and replace as needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these filters compatible with my booth brand?

We carry filters sized for Accudraft, Binks, Blowtherm, Devilbiss, Eagle, Garmat, GFS, Nova Verta, Spraybake, USI, and many other manufacturers. Use the brand filter above to find the right fit for your booth.

What if my booth isn't listed?

Check the "Other" category or filter by width. Sizes range from 20" to 81" — measuring your ceiling plenum opening is the most reliable way to find a match.

What happens if I don't replace filters on schedule?

A clogged filter restricts airflow, reduces the booth's ability to flush overspray and contaminants, and leads to dust nibs in the finish, longer dry times, and added strain on the fan and motor.

Do ceiling intake filters work with side-draft booths?

No. Blanket-style ceiling filters are designed for downdraft booths only. Side-draft and cross-draft booths use different filter types for their side or front intake panels.
