Exhaust Filter Bags — Tower & Sock-Style Exhaust Media

Bag-style exhaust filtration uses a tower or header housing instead of a flat pad or roll rack — air is pulled through fabric bags, pockets, or a cone-shaped sock rather than across a flat sheet of media. More sewn surface area in a smaller footprint means these formats generally hold more overspray between changeouts than an equivalent flat pad.

If your booth has a tower opening or a pocket header rather than a flat exhaust rack, this is your format. Once you know you need a bag, see Pocket & Bag Filters to match the exact pocket count.

Filter Guide by Housing Type

Tower bag filters

The Garmat Exhaust Tower Filter Bag fits Garmat Chinook, Tier 1, and Frontier booths — a cone-shaped polyester bag that mounts directly over the tower opening, sold in 4-packs.

Multi-pocket header bags

Blowtherm/GFS (6-pocket, 8-pocket truck booth, and space-saver formats) and USI (5- and 8-pocket) use a header frame with multiple sewn pockets rather than a single cone. Accudraft's bag filters use a similar box-style pocket format in 18x24x20 and 15x24x20 sizes.

Sock-style bags

The Spraybake Sock Filter (24"x60") is a single large cone rather than a multi-pocket header — the simplest bag format we carry.

Compact bag format

The Pocket Cube Air Filter (20"x20"x20") is a 3-pocket cube-shaped bag for booths with a compact exhaust opening.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between this collection and Pocket & Bag Filters?

Same products, different starting point. This collection is for shops deciding whether they need bag-style exhaust filtration at all (tower/header housings vs. flat pad racks); Pocket & Bag Filters is for shops who already know they need a bag and are matching pocket count.

Do bag filters last longer than pad or roll exhaust media?

Generally yes for dust-holding capacity — the pocket or sock shape packs more media surface area into the same housing footprint than a flat sheet, so bag filters typically go longer between changeouts under the same spray volume.

Can I switch my flat-pad exhaust rack to bag filters?

Only if your booth's housing supports it — bag filters need a tower or pocket-header frame to mount into. Check your booth model or send us a photo of your current exhaust housing.

Do exhaust filter bags support NESHAP 6H compliance?

Yes, when used as your primary exhaust stage — our bag exhaust media carries published 98%+ overspray-arrestance ratings. See compliance documentation.

Not sure which bag style fits your booth? Use Find My Filter, check our custom-cut filter option, or read our brand-by-brand exact-fit guide.
